Edinburgh : Standards for Urban Design

The Council has recently (August 2003) prepared a report to Planning Committee on Urban Design Guidelines for Edinburgh.

A great deal of urban design advice has now been produced from a variety of sources

including the Scottish Executive. This document translates that advice into the Edinburgh context.

A user-friendly text is employed, illustrating principles with drawings and photographs of environments in the city.

The Edinburgh Standards for Urban Design underpin the Council’s commitment to take design matters seriously
