design for wildlife viewing points

Am trying to find best practice designs for wildlife viewing points in urban environments and would like to know if anyone has public policy/guidelines promoting people engaging with wildlife within biodiversity, open spaces or streetscapes strategies or policies? Thanks

I am now looking at creating small scale designs that help the very busy general public notice the wildlfe around them and looking for policies that support this...any thoughts from you experts out there?? Theresa

It's an uphill struggle simply retaining wildlife in our towns and cities. The domestic cat population has exploded over the last few decades so the birds are getting eaten and the paving and decking of gardens has reduced the available habitat. Where there is wildlife to be observed, it is generally much less diverse than it once was, but to be able to see birds and the like is of value. I would recommend habitat creation over and above the creation of viewing points.
