tips on using RUDI and the forum

Discussion forum

How does this work?

Overview / summary

If you visit the forum area you will see a number of main forum and topic headings.  You get an overview of the items included in this area.

Main forum headings i.e. 'Planning and Crime'

Within these main forum headings are topics for discussion. So for example, if you click on 'Planning and Crime' forum heading you will see the forum topic 'learning from abroad'.   If you click on this forum topic heading you can see previous comments attached to this item in order of date entered (last entry at the top). You can join the discussion by 'adding a new comment' or by 'replying' to an existing comment.  If you reply to an existing comment your comment will indent underneath the comment you are responding to.

Posting a new comment

Use the 'post a comment' box at the bottom of the page.  Fill in subject heading and the comment box and preview you comment.  If you are happy with it then post it to the site.  You can always edit or delete your own comments once you have posted it to the site if you wish.

Replying

Click on the reply button at the bottom of the comment you wish to reply to. Again you will need to enter a subject heading and your comment in the body text.  You should then select ‘preview comment’, and if you are happy with it the ‘post comment’.  Once you have posted a comment you can edit or delete the comment if you wish by clicking on the function buttons below your comment.

Post a new forum topic

Forum topic i.e. membership queries?

Click on post a new forum topic, it will ask you to select a main forum heading which you want your topic to appear under, you can select this from the drop down menu. Then input the subject heading and write your comment in the body text, then click on the preview button and if you are happy with your comment then save - this will post your comment to the site.

If you would prefer to start a new main forum heading i.e. Regeneration, so you can post topics to this specific heading please contact us to agree its name and we will set this up for you. You can then post your topic to the new main heading.
