New policy framework for preparation of regional strategies published
The Government has published a policy framework for the preparation of Regional Strategies prepared under the provisions of the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act.
The document, jointly produced by Communities and Local Government (CLG) and the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS), provides guidance on the preparation and revision of such strategies and sets out the main expectations on their form, content implementation and monitoring.
The policy statement replaces PPS 11: Regional Spatial Strategies; PPS 11: Regional Planning Strategies (2004) – technical amendments (2009) and Guidance to Regional Development Agencies on Regional Strategies (2005).
