Vision for Leeds

Leeds, Vision for Leeds 2004-2020

Vision for Leeds 2004 to 2020 is the second community strategy for Leeds. The Leeds Initiative, is the city's strategic partnership group. Founded in 1990 and led by Leeds City Council, they bring together the public, private, community and voluntary sectors, and set out a long-term plan for the ongoing economic, cultural, technological and environmental development of the city.

The second Vision for Leeds is the community strategy for the city, building on the first Vision for Leeds that was published in July 1999 (Vision for Leeds - A Strategy for Sustainable Development). It also aims to answer the following important questions:

  • What sort of city should Leeds be in the future?
  • What are the main priorities for action?
  • How will communities, groups and agencies work together to deliver what is needed?
