By Brian Goodey, Joint Centre for Urban Design, Oxford Brookes University, Oxford, UK

© Compiled by Professor Brian Goodey, Joint Centre for Urban Design, Oxford Brookes University.

NOTE: Like most aspects of Urban Design and landscape planning, two applied subjects, understanding is informed through reference to a very wide range of disciplines and literatures.

The list below includes some of the key sources on the subject (marked thus *), but also a selection of related studies, ranging from practice reports to developments on social thought. Items are arranged alphabetically, by author. The key references can be viewed separately by clicking here.

Use the list as an initial guide, seeking out one or two items and then pursuing your own interests through their content and matters raised.

I would welcome additional references on to items which you feel to be of value, and would be included in subsequent versions of this bibliography. (Email to RUDI)
