Coin Street Community Builders

Coin Street Community Builders (CSCB) is a not-for-profit public service company which seeks to improve the South Bank as a place to live in, to work in and to visit. All members of the company live locally.

Since 1984 CSCB has overseen the creation of Bernie Spain Gardens, Gabriel's Wharf and Oxo Tower Wharf, the completion of the South Bank riverside walkway and the building of 160 new, affordable homes. The homes are managed by housing co-operatives whilst the rest of the development is managed by CSCB which also organises the Coin Street Festival - London's principal free arts festival.

Future plans include further housing schemes, a Thames Lido, a Thames Discovery Centre and social, educational and training facilities.

Space Organization

There are now eleven SPACE ORGANlSATION projects, including the Custard Factory in Birmingham. They provide diverse accomodation for nearly a thousand small artistic and creative enterprises employing more than two thousand people.

Bennie Gray's SPACE ORGANISATION also provides a consultancy service on all aspects of inner city revitalisation.
