Turning back the tide of decline: design and the changing image of English seaside resorts

'Shifting Sands' seminars organised by English Heritage and CABE followed the publication of the report they commissioned, and were held at various locations around the English coast.

Aimed at those involved in management, regeneration, promotion and conservation, the seminar offered a chance to hear about significant projects in the area and to exchange experiences, and it was well attended by representatives from local authorities, regional organisations and consultants.
